Role Overview:

As a Fixed Income Sales Trader for Eastern Europe, you will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, and treasuries across Eastern European markets. You will develop strong client relationships, providing market insights and tailored trading solutions to meet their investment needs.

In this role, you will actively engage in business development, identifying new opportunities and strengthening relationships with institutional investors. You will also collaborate closely with internal trading and research teams to deliver high-quality execution and strategic trade ideas. Additionally, you will mentor and support junior colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and high-performance team environment

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Portfolio Management: Develop and manage a portfolio of institutional clients across Eastern European markets, fostering long-term relationships and driving revenue growth.

  • Business Development: Identify and onboard new institutional clients, expanding the firm’s footprint within pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, and treasuries.

  • Market Insights & Idea Sharing: Stay informed on fixed income market trends, providing clients with trading ideas, market updates, and investment opportunities.

  • Transaction Management: Facilitate and execute fixed income transactions, ensuring optimal execution and seamless trade processing.

  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with colleagues to share knowledge, enhance strategies, and support junior team members in their professional development.

  • Cross-Department Coordination: Liaise with trading, research, and structuring teams to provide clients with comprehensive solutions tailored to their investment objectives.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Fixed Income Sales or Trading, preferably in a client-facing institutional role.

  • Business Development Skills: Proven ability to identify and engage institutional clients, with a strong network within pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, or treasuries.

  • Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of fixed income products, including high yield, investment-grade bonds, structured products, and private placements.

  • Education: An academic degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Commercial Drive: A proactive, results-driven mindset with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • Languages: Fluent in English and at least one Eastern European language (preference for Romanian).

  • Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Amsterdam, with occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.
